This year both Japanese Dance classes I and II performed in the semesterly Pau Hana Concert where we demonstrated the dances we learned over the course of the semester.

Will have to wait nearly a year to see the last one, but…
It was so worth going to see in theaters! Even with the cliffhanger. Perfect way to say goodbye to Japan… at least for now.
Farewell, JET.
Every experience has its high points and its low points, but never is it without value. And I have learned so much from this experience on JET that I cannot even begin to fully explain it. It was a wonderful surprise receiving a goodbye gift from my teachers (and that my panda-loving nature left such an impression).

It’s Official!
水羊羹＆若鮎 – Mizu-yokan & Waka-ayu
Today we worked on making two kinds of wagashi, mizu-yokan (the jelly-like substance in the bamboo cups) and waka-ayu (the fish). The waka-ayu were hard to fold and wrap… But they somehow managed to come out nicely in the end!
