I watched the serial TV drama seriesHiganjima during my stint in Japan 3 years ago, so I was pretty surprised to see that a continuation film is set for release October 15, complete with Shiraishi Shunya, Suzuki Ryohei, and others reprising their roles (along with some new faces).
Saw this today! It’s based more on the novel than the Studio Ghibli movie, but it was still enjoyable. Might be a bit hard to follow if you haven’t at least seen the anime film though. Still a cute, cheery film!
