Scheduled to come out in early August, although I’m not too familiar with the original manga/anime I’m looking forward to this film.

Ikuta Toma and Rurouni Kenshin film series director Otomo Keishi have come together, along with Okada Masaki, Matsuzaka Tori, and other distinguished cast members including Kikkawa Kouji, to produce the live-action adaptation of Himitsu ~Top Secret~ (also known in English as (The Top Secret: Murder in Mind).

Based on Shimizu Reiko’s mystery manga series (which was also made into an anime series), Himitsu ~Top Secret~ circulates around the National Police Agency’s special division, known as Daiku (“The Ninth”), which is dedicated to revealing the truth of unsolved cases by infiltrating the minds of victims’ “remaining memories”. However, with these intracerebral investigations comes the danger of also ending up exposing one’s “heart’s secrets” that everyone has but never wants known.

Cast features:

• Ikuta Toma (生田斗真) as Maki Tsuyoshi, the section chief of Daiku with a genius intellect
• Okada Masaki (岡田将生) as Aoki Ikkou, a newcomer Daiku investigator who both admires and butts heads with Maki
• Kikkawa Kouji (吉川晃司) as Kainuma, a heinous criminal who shares a fated past with Maki
• Matsuzaka Tori (松坂桃李) as Suzuki Katsuhiro, Maki’s closest friend who started Daiku together with Maki
